Unsun — the Polish female-fronted gothic metal band led by ex-VADER guitarist Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz — has issued the following update: "It's been two years since we recorded our first album and one year since we published it. "We are so glad to hear that you like what we are creating. "Last year was artistically both pleasant and difficult for us. Introducing quite new music we didn't know how people will react. However, we quickly realized that we've chosen the right way. "Your support gives us reason to continue what we started. "Two years after [the release of] 'The End Of Life', we're entering the recording studio to create something completely extraordinary and fantastic. Being full of enthusiasm and creativity, we are starting to record our new album on 19th February." Originally formed under the moniker Unseen, the dynamic four-piece decided that something incorporating day and night, light and darkness would suit them best. Thus Unsun was born, a label perfectly encompassing the melancholic, dark and yet catchy nature of their music as well as the stark contrast between female singer Aya's highly melodic vocals and the driving, powerful riffs. Consolidated by the sheer passion to play intense music, Mauser and Aya knew upon their first rehearsals that it was their destiny to create music together. From the very beginning, Unsun was not supposed to be just another side-project for Mauser, but his personal way of exploring new music. Thus, he and Aya started looking for other exceptional musicians to make Unsun a full-time band. Very soon Vaaver from Indukti and Heinrich, who also plays bass in Vesania, teamed up with Mauser and Aya to form the band they are today. It didn't take long for Unsun to catch the attention of various labels throughout Europe and in 2007 they finally signed a deal with Mystic Production in their native Poland. The ink hadn't fully dried yet when Mauser and Aya already started writing the first songs for what should become their debut album, "The End Of Life", which was recorded in Poland in Studio-X in the beginning of 2008. Necrophagia (no relation to me whatsoever) will begin working on a series of videos for an upcoming DVD, to be titled 'The Gospel of Gore', once they have completed the recording of the long-awaited new album 'Deathtrip 69'. Some early names the band has expressed interest in working with include Hart D. Fisher, Jim Vanbebber, Herschell Gordon Lewis, Tom Savini, Ryan Nicholson, Toe Tag Pictures, Don Edmonds, Gunnar Hansen, Jovanka Vuckovic and Mariano Baino."
Boris Randall (formerly of Hallowmas) recently joined Necrophagia and will appear on "Deathtrip 69", which is now scheduled for a Halloween 2010 release. Boris and Necrophagia frontman Frank "Killjoy" Pucci have been working on material for the CD, which will mark the group's first all-new release in over five years. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Suffering Comes in Sixes", "Reborn Through Blackmass", "Celluliod Screams" and "Bleeding Eyes of the Eternally Damned".
Necrophagia's forthcoming CD will feature contributions by Opal Enthroned. She was originally a member of the band during the period when her now ex-husband Philip Anselmo (Pantera, Down) was playing guitar For Necrophagia.
Opal made her Necro debut on the "Cannibal Holocaust" EP in 2001. She also worked with Pucci and Anselmo in the now-defunct raw black metal project Viking Crown.

Colin Davis, founding member and songwriter of Californian brutal death metallers VILE, has issued the following update:
"The album has been almost completed for several months now and I have been working through many technical difficulties that arise when you record with musicians who live across the world.
"It just so happens that the current band membership includes musicians who have other projects, jobs, other priorities as well. And it's understandable because I do, too. I run a CD mastering studio and have been studying law in my spare time also.
"I have reached a point where I can't pull my hair out with anxiety when things go more slowly than expected. This band's progress has always been on the slow side.
"As all of you know, what we release is very high quality and that won't change, but, unfortunately, that comes at the price of a slower pace.
"As of today, I am about four weeks away from mixing and then that will take another 4-5 weeks. I don't see any reason why that timeline will change at this point though. After that, I will have to do some business related to the record label situation and I will release another song after the album is finished. Maybe another one a little bit later.
"If the label situation goes well, we will release the album this summer and hopefully a tour will happen in the fall. But first things are first....get this album finished."
