Celtic Frost Dead
Heavy NewsTriptykon/ex-Celtic Frost mainman Tom Fischer has posted the following message online:

"The intense rain outside continues unabated, and, far in the distance, the torn, grey clouds merge with the earth, obscuring any hint of a horizon. A fitting scenery to a final act of ignominy.
I attended seven and a half funereal hours of meetings yesterday, initially with Celtic Frost/Triptykon manager Antje Lange, then including Martin Eric Ain and Celtic Frost's accountant, to discuss in detail the dissolution of most of Celtic Frost's business arrangements and the distribution of the group's remaining assets.
What an infinitely doleful and emotionally draining undertaking, and one I did not ever wish to witness. And yet one that was probably unavoidable."

Fischer initially left the group in April of this year citing internal conflict as the reason and taking all music he had been writing for Celtic Frost with him to use in his new band, Triptykon which also features original Celtic Frost drummer Reed St. Mark and Dark Fortress/ex-Celtic Frost touring guitarist V Santura.

2nd Single From Funeral For A Friend
Upcoming ReleasesWelsh rockers FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND release the second single from their eagerly anticipated fourth album ('Memory And Humanity') on 29th September 2008.

Entitled 'Kicking And Screaming' it will be available via their label, Join Us Records.

Following on from the smash hit 'Waterfront Dance Club / Beneath The Burning Tree' double A side single, 'Kicking And Screaming' is a truly infectious slab of melody, expertly melded to a groove as big as a canyon! Written about the experiences of growing up in the valleys of South Wales, it is one of the most autobiographical and heartfelt songs in Funeral For A Friend's formidable arsenal.

"I remember myself and Matt knocking down a rough instrumental version of this track on a day off in Germany," explains drummer Ryan Richards. "It was only really a couple of riffs, a sampled beat and the synth in the chorus, but even then there was a wealth of melody going on. It's basically a pop song played loud, hard and turned up to 11."

The single will be available in the following formats:
CD Single (Kicking And Screaming plus 2 brand new tracks, 1 from the forthcoming album)
7" Single (Kicking And Screaming plus 1 brand new track)
Download Bundle (Kicking And Screaming plus 2 brand new non-album tracks plus Kicking And Screaming as remixed by Ghostlines)
Itunes Bundle (Download bundle plus special exclusive unplugged version of Kicking And Screaming)

The band have also recently announced an extensive UK tour that will take place throughout October, November and December 2008 in support of their fourth album, the first on their own label, 'Memory And Humanity'.

It is due for release on 13th October - exactly five years to the day that their debut record 'Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation' hit the shelves!

Support on the tour will come from Canadian metallers Cancer Bats, Irish upstarts In Case Of Fire and Welsh combo Attack Attack

Amon Amarth Announce Album Video
Heavy News
“We recently returned from Poland after shooting the first video for the upcoming album ‘Twilight of the Thunder God’. The video will be for the title track.

We joined efforts with the Polish team, Group 13 and director Dariusz Szermanowicz for ‘Twilight of the Thunder God’ and filmed it on the old Viking site, Jomsborg, home of the Jomsvikings in Wolin, Poland.

Our brothers from Jomsvikings traveled from far and wide, places like Poland, Germany, Belgium, England, Australia and USA to be part of this great video.

It seemed that the Thunder God was on our side when shooting the video, because a hurricane/storm passed through the area during the day, creating the chaotic and violent atmosphere we were hoping for. It was the toughest conditions we ever recorded a video in, blood and sweat, quite literally both, were part of the making. But we don't mind getting our hands dirty and metal was never supposed to be ‘nice’. In fact we couldn't have wished for a more fitting video shoot for this song, being the Ragnarök and all!

We want to thank Igor for making this possible, Blodhvitnir Meldric and Sana, the Group 13 crew for their professional work and of course the Jomsvikings for being made of steel”

The videoclip for "Twilight of the Thunder God" will make its debut in September. The album "Twilight of the Thunder God" will be released around 19th September, in D/A/CH/I and about 22nd September, for the rest of Europe
