According to the band's webmaster, "the drums and most of the rhythm guitars are all recorded. At the moment, they are fine-tuning the lyrics and melodies, during which time Russ [Allen] will also be recording his vocals.
Jason Rullo of North America's progressive metal gods SYMPHONY X is scheduled to enter the studio to begin laying down the drum tracks for the band's next studio album, tentatively due mid-2010 via their new record label, Nuclear Blast Records.
SYMPHONY X guitarist Michael Romeo previously stated about the group's new material, "We have over an hour of really good stuff that we really dig; there's more than enough stuff there that we can choose the best songs to go on the CD... but all of the songs are really strong. One is shaping up to be 10 minutes plus.
"I think everyone will like it," Romeo concluded. "It has a little bit of everything."
On 4th November, 2008, InsideOut Music released a special 5.1 edition of SYMPHONY X's critically acclaimed album "Paradise Lost". The double-disc package includes a DVD 5.1 mix by Jens Bogren of the entire album as well as two enhanced HD videos for "Set the World on Fire" and "Serpent's Kiss".

| Embryonic Devourment Album Details |
|
The cover artwork for "Vivid Enterpretations Of The Void", the forthcoming second full-length album from the California technical death/grind four-piece EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT, can be viewed online.
Commented EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT bassist/vocalist Austin Spence: "I have admired Remy's [Cuveillier] work over the years and feel he has the best artistic vision for the overall theme of this release. He has a very abstract style which is also how we like to think of our music."
"Vivid Interpretations Of The Void" will be released later in the year on Deepsend Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Fear of Reality Exceeds Fantasy", is based on the Reptilian Agenda, a theory researched, written and spoken about extensively by British author/reporter/former pro football player David Icke for well over a decade. The disc was recorded and engineered by ANOMALOUS guitarist Nate Vennarucci and was mixed and mastered by VILE's Colin Davis at Imperial Studios.

| IRON MAIDEN - THE FINAL FRONTIER |
|
IRON MAIDEN are delighted to announce the premiere on www.ironmaiden.com of the “Director’s Cut” video for the title track from their new album, ‘THE FINAL FRONTIER ’.
The album is due for release on 16th August and the video is an edit of the opening song on the album, entitled ‘Satellite 15… The Final Frontier’. The video, which can be viewed now at www.ironmaiden.com, was produced by award-winning production company Darkside Animation Films. Darkside’s creative team includes animators who've created effects for feature films including ‘Lost in Space’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Black Hawk Down’. The script was written by the director of BBC Radio's ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’, and the live action was co-ordinated and directed by Nick Scott Studios. As well as working round the clock to turn out over three months of animation in eight weeks flat, the Darkside team developed entirely new technology to bring to life as never before Iron Maiden’s mascot, EDDIE, in his new alien incarnation. A total of 141 shots combined live action with integrated CGI as well as full 3D animation, resulting in a complete running time of five minutes - that's over seven thousand frames, taking up to half an hour to render each frame! Intriguingly, some of the integral footage was shot at Rendlesham Forest in Southern England, which is associated with The Rendlesham Forest Incident due to a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and alleged landing of a craft of unknown origin. The album ‘The Final Frontier’ which features 10 tracks, including ‘El Dorado’ (which was released as a free download to great worldwide excitement in June) runs for over 76 minutes. Confirmed for release on EMI on 16th August, the album will be released in a unique Limited Edition Collectors ‘Mission Edition’ CD case and will include access to extra bonus content including the Director’s Cut of this new video, filmed band ‘Mission Debrief’ interview footage, wallpapers, photos and the exclusive game ‘Mission II : Rescue & Revenge’. Maiden are also for the first time making the album available as an iTunes LP with bonus content as well as the traditional digital format.
There will also be a Limited Edition Double Picture Disc.

Ozzy Osbourne is searching for an actor to play him in a movie about his life. The film will chart his early life, including his heavy booze sessions and the tough up-bringing which led to him doing time in prison.
It has been rumoured that A-listers Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jack Black have been considered for the role, with Depp a hot favourite. Ozzy instead wants a real-life Brummie (colloquial term) to take the role, preferably a street kid from the back alleys of the city.
"I'd like to get a Birmingham guy to play the young lad in it because Americans can't do a good Brummie accent (majority of the English can't either)," he told the Sunday Mercury before taking to the stage at Birmingham Town Hall last night.
"I don't want a Johnny Depp or someone from the Hobbit films. I want someone who knows Birmingham. I'm from Birmingham, and it would be good to get someone from Birmingham to play me."
